Biography
Alyn Sano is a Rwandese singer and songwriter known for sensational pop music, relatable lyrics and an iconic voice. After kick-starting her career with the single Ntako Bisa in 2018, she released numerous national and regional hits including Kontrola and We The Best featuring Yvan Buravan. Hono, which calls busy men to take care of their women, is her latest release. Her debut album is expected later this year. She started recording original music right after graduating from Akilah Institute for Women (now Davis College) in Hospitality Management and Leadership. Her debut single “Naremewe Wowe” caught on setting her up for making a name for herself with various hits that followed. She has already performed in Rwanda’s biggest events such as Kwita Izina, Iwacu Music festival, Transform Africa Summit, Afro Basket and, notably, Legends Alive where she got to sing along the legendary Yvonne Chaka Chaka from South Africa. Sano recently attended The Voice Afrique, one of the biggest music competitions in Africa, where she made it to the top 12. This extra visibility combined with her English songs makes her one of the most promising international artists to make waves starting from Rwanda. In 2020, she was named Rwanda’s Best Female Artist by the acclaimed show Isango Na Muzika. In 2021, she was awarded the “Woman Of The Decade Award” by her former university in the spirit of recognizing outstanding work where She also currently serves as Brand Ambassador to the institution.
