Biography
Indigo & the Sirens is the project of italian singer-songwriter and producer Mario Ferrara. The Southern Italy native took his moniker from pseudoscientific new age concepts and greek mythology, a mix that depicts perfectly the sound of this genuine homemade alternative sensation. Born on May 9, 1996 in Nocera Inferiore, He delved into songwriting at an early age and rapidly found the perfect formula to bring his unusual stories to life. His ambitious independent project started with The Cult of Youth, a dark, experimental baroque electronic piece where vulnerable androgynous vocals meet the depths of his darker guttural range. If Lana Del Rey and Dave Gahan had a child it would probably be Indigo & the Sirens. His 2017 debut EP accumulated millions of streams and views across the internet without the help of major playlists or labels which led him to start his own company Black Trident Records. His sophomore EP Gardens was released through the label. In 2020 he released Inferno which solidified Indigo's signature sound and lyricism. The album explores the aftermath of depression and the artist's twisted journey to fame and self discovery masked as a modern-day Divine Comedy turned horror B-movie. The album's cult horror references and pulp horror aesthetic contribute to redefining the idea of halloween music thanks to an eclectic blend of genres and themes that flow perfectly to tell this original horrorpop story. In October 2021 he released Inferno (Expanded Edition).
