Currently based in Costa Rica, Aykanna is an up and coming duo with a wild back story which they tell through soulful melodies and alleviating narratives. Made up of Billboard acclaimed musician, Pauline Drossart and Grammy nominated percussionist, Akah Jackson, the husband and wife duo share their passion for life through sound and soul. A fateful meeting ignited a spark for Pauline and Akah to come together, forming not just a union of life but music as well. As they continue to inspire each other, the duo developed a unique sonic quality, the perfect blend of masculinity and femininity over the years, a sound that can be immediately recognized as their own. Being avid storytellers, Aykanna is greatly influenced by real life, drawing inspiration for their music from personal experiences, allowing them to invoke strong emotions in people. Currently working on their 8th studio album, the couple continues to be inspired by life, now together with their 10 year old daughter, Sahej-Rose. With no plans to slow down or stop anytime soon, Aykanna hopes to engage current audiences and reach out to new ones with their exciting yet profound creations. Aykanna is no doubt, well on their way to becoming one of the most distinctive Artists in this generation.
