    Biography

    Rocky Block started playing drums in his father's lap as a toddler. Born and raised in Nashville Tennessee, there was no question from a very young age that he was born to play music. With his father, a famed Nashville TV/radio personality, drummer, and manager and his mother a talented blues artist he was immersed in records old and new at home, and sat on the stairs during countless of his parents' rehearsals in the home studio downstairs. Rocky's professional music career started at 16, playing bass for hire. After three years of touring as a sideman, he turned his focus to writing songs with a distinct blend of classic soul, pop, and gospel influences. He began working on his Debut EP "Lover" with Grammy nominated producer Casey Wasner in 2016. "I love playing bass, but writing and singing my truth is what's most fulfilling for me." he says. "Lover is truly the record I've always wanted to make, my take on the music I love. My mistakes, some heartache, and just enough hope to keep going."
