Biography
Louisiana Grindcore crew FLESH PARADE began life in 1990 touting a Death Metal sound and cut the 1991 demo, "MEATHOOK". This incarnation of the group only managed a handful of shows before almost all original members exited. The bassist, C.J. Pierce would eventually relocate to Dallas, Texas and find fame as the guitarist for Nu-Metal act DROWNING POOL. FLESH PARADE regrouped shortly after adding SEVERANCE (NOLA) members, vocalist Jason Pilgrim and guitarist Rene Perez as well as Ben Marrs, former bassist of EXHUMED. Marrs would leave before FLESH PARADE recorded the following demos, 1992's "HATE LIFE" and 1993's "WORTHLESS". Shane Lechler would then fill the bassist vacancy in 1994 for their fourth demo, "GOOD STUFF". In 1997, FLESH PARADE signed to Relapse Records for the release of the "KILL WHITEY" 7" and CD. In 2000, due to lack of label interest, FLESH PARADE decided to put things on hold and focus on their personal lives. In 2007, after Hurricane Katrina had split the members up, they regrouped and recruited new singer, Scott Leger from the band SHRUM. Rounding out the line-up on bass would be Tony Salisbury from the Grindcore band, MULE SKINNER. In 2010, finally the long-awaited album, "DIRTY SWEET" was released on the band's label, MAINSTAY RECORDINGS and was received well by the metal community. FLESH PARADE has recently welcomed back singer Jason Pilgrim on vocals and has played a few select shows in the Netherlands, California, and New Orleans.
