Biography
Brayden Lape is a 16-year-old musician from Grass Lake, Michigan, who spent most of his time on school and sports until the pandemic hit. With more free time, Brayden started writing and performing music for his family and friends and even taught himself to play the guitar. He began playing small gigs in his hometown and was encouraged by his mother to audition for Season 21 of NBC's The Voice. Brayden's experience on The Voice was life-changing, and with the support of his coach Blake Shelton and fans, he achieved a top-five victory. The experience gave him the confidence to pursue music beyond a hobby. His musical style centers around expressing the joys of a simple small-town life, much like the country music he loves. Brayden rapidly built a growing fan base by performing covers of artists such as Brett Young and Tim McGraw, and his cover of Brett's song "Mercy" even caught the attention of Brett Young himself. Brayden is now ready to share his own songs and individual style and recently released his debut single, "Hand It To Ya," which he co-wrote with fellow Voice finalist Morgan Myles and songwriter/musician Bill DiLuigi. He also shot his first music video to accompany the song, set to be released in late spring. “As I pursue a career in music, I think believing in your dreams and putting in the hard work are important. My advice for others is: you don’t know unless you try! Do what your heart desires even if it seems out of reach!”
