Biography
WAVE IN HEAD is a one-man project by Michael Pohl from Magdeburg, now based in the Black Forest. Founded in 1993, WAVE IN HEAD developed into a respectable underground act by 2001. Contracted until 2013 to A Different Drum, America's largest synthpop label, the project presents itself with melodic, sometimes anthemic refrains, a warm, clear voice and lots of synthetic sounds between Moog, ARP and reactor. A special feature: the lyrics are written in both English and German. Appearances in Germany and the USA in the early 2000s finally make WAVE IN HEAD one of the flagship bands of the label. At the end of 2021, WAVE IN HEAD announced its 7th full-length album: "Happiest Day", released on February 22nd, 2022 with the German label INTRAPOP. The new album features the usual but mature mix of electronic sounds, Michael's warm vocals with German and English lyrics, recorded and mixed in the Black Forest and balanced by Dave Hewson in England. The latter is a composer for film and television and has been enormously productive for an enormously long time. For updated information see also WAVE IN HEAD‘s site at Facebook and SoundCloud.
