Biography

Panic is Perfect’s sound is a mixture of Dance Rock, Afro-Beat and 60’s Pop influences set around introspective lyric writing and super catchy melodies. Multi-instrumentalist Mike Hoffman writes and produces all the recordings, but the live band is a tight knit group of long term collaborators that feels more like a family than a band. The group got its start as a duo, playing art openings in San Francisco. Over time they evolved into a 5-piece band featuring a high-energy, percussion-driven show. After a chance encounter in a SF recording studio with the owner of Strangeloop Records they were offered a record deal on the spot. Following the success of their debut EP (Behind Your Eyelids), they toured the US extensively, sharing the stage with artists such as Death Cab For Cutie, Passion Pit, Matt and Kim, Metric, and K.Flay. Panic is Perfect’s new 5 track EP, Becoming Yourself, is due out May 13th 2022. Members include Mike Hoffman (Vocals, Guitar and Percussion), Ty Parker (Drums), Jorge Gonzalez Mendez (Guitar), Bob Byers (Bass) and Sean Tannehill (Keyboards).
