Biography
Joshua Milo is a musical chameleon. Informed by a deep love for Nintendo game music, Japanese Jazz fusion and Michael Jackson’s irreplaceable spirit, Joshua’s music is a richly expressive melting pot that challenges the notion of being boxed in by the expectations of musical convention. Growing up in Cologne, Germany, he quickly found his way to the piano, picking up the instrument at age six and later the saxophone. By his early teens, Joshua would become a multi-instrumentalist and producer, blending Jazz, Fusion, Funk, R&B, and Hip-Hop into his own unique style. Being the son of a flight attendant, he had the privilege of seeing a lot of the world at an early age and quickly found his fascination for Japan and its unique culture, which would become a major inspiration for his music. Not only is Joshua a musician, he is also a multi-media artist. Over the years, he developed a knack for producing videos to go along with his music. On YouTube, he has already gained popularity for unorthodox creations like an orchestral piece he pieced together from an emoji and music made from random objects in his room. His creations have thus far garnered him almost half a million views and he has won remix contests from the likes of Andrew Huang and Davie504. With other bands and projects, he already opened shows for Tom Jones, Bill Evans and Nils Landgren and has played on the famous North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam.
