Biography

Melodium is a moniker of Laurent Girard, an indie electronica producer from France associated with an array of independent labels. Born in 1975, Girard made his recording debut in 1999 with the 7" single Rhythmi on the label Static Caravan. He made his full-length album debut two years later with QuietNoiseArea (2001) on the label Disasters by Choice. He also released several albums on Audio Dregs (Anaemia, 2004; Flacana Flacana, 2006; Cerebro Spin, 2008; The Island, 2012), Autres Directions in Music (La Tête Qui Flotte, 2005; Music for Invisible People, 2006). In addition, he released music in a variety of other formats, from one-off MP3s and homemade CD-Rs to singles and EPs. Lately his track "kissing diseases" appeared on tv show "the young pope".
