Biography
TeamSESH artist and producer ghost/\/ghoul has effectively distinguished himself as an eccentric and distinct musician. Born Carlos Molina, his instrumentals are full of rumbling synths and emotive melodies which stand on their own as if they’re living, breathing entities. With each production thriving in its own fantasy world, the only consistency between any of Molina’s creations seems to be his recurrent use of hip-hop based drums. Originally from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Molina relocated to South Florida before settling down in New York. Surrounded by salsa, merengue, and reggaeton as a youth, in was in the late 2000s when Molina’s interest in music led him to frequent hip-hop forums like KanyeToThe. Against the odds, he learned production in FL Studio despite having no musical background and eventually uploaded his instrumentals to both Bandcamp and SoundCloud. In 2011 Molina received a message from Bones to join the renowned internet rap collective TeamSESH. As an original member of the group, Molina worked alongside fellow TeamSESH artists, collaborating with Drew the Architect, Cat Soup, Vegard, and others. In this period, he released over 35 projects and albums, uniquely using the Native Instrument Maschine beat pads in his productions. While continuing to focus on experimenting with his solo work, Molina heads into the future with ambitions to produce for rappers yet again. — Jack Angell
