Biography

Síochána (pronounced sha kahw naa) was founded in April 1999. Based in St. John’s, Nfld, this roots band play a mixture of Traditional Newfoundland, bluegrass, Celtic, folk and some old rock and roll music. They're known for their tight harmonies and high energy shows on stage. December 2014 they went on hiatus and now, 4 years later, they return with a new lineup and a renewed passion. They are currently working on their first CD in almost 15 years. Look for new originals such as Raise A Glass and Son of A Sailor to be performed during the festival. Members of the band include: Darrin Feehan, Wayne James, Ian Crewe, Bruce Blackwood and Sonny Hogan.
