    Biography

    Hawaiian-born singer/songwriter Leihoku makes melodic acoustic pop and contemporary R&B. Born Leihoku Pedersen Ellsworth on the island of Oahu in 1987, Leihoku took vocal and dance lessons growing up and performed in local theater productions. As a senior in high school, she won the lead in her school's touring production of the opera Aida, a tour that culminated in a performance at Festival Fringe in Edinburgh, Scotland. This early success spurred the aspiring singer to earn her bachelor's degree in theater from Colorado State University. After graduating college in 2010, she relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her music career. Collaborating with the Red Fly Music production team, Leihoku released two initial singles, "Not Another You" and "Bricks." In 2014 she released her debut EP, Trouble with You Gone, featuring the single "Always." ~ Matt Collar
