Biography

Westpark Elementary is the name of the stomping grounds where Enad Abunimeh (Vocals/Guitar), Kai Franco (Bass), and Prithvi Jana (Drums) had originally met. Eager to continue their ongoing stream of debauchery that stems from skateboarding & make-believe; the idea of Westpark as a band was conceived in high school. The group quickly got to work as they began writing their first lot of songs that would be later grouped together as an EP titled "Simple Thoughts". During their time as adolescents, the band played all over Southern California in venues such as The Observatory, House of Blues, and The Whisky a Go Go. Westpark had won Battle of the Bands two years in a row before being disqualified for crowd surfing and undressing in the name of rock and roll during their third year. This is the same contest that Thrice and Young the Giant had won in the past. In 2017, Westpark released "That Groove", which gave the group its first glance at success. A few months later and the trio released their next single "Coffee & Weed". Today, both tracks have surpassed 2 million organic streams on Spotify. After numerous releases and some time spent living and performing in Berkeley, Westpark kicked off production of their first full length record with Greg Cortez of New Monkey Studio in Van Nuys. The debut LP titled "Throw Up Your Demons" was released in October of 2022. Flashforward to present day and the trio is in the early stages of production for their next set of songs.
