Biography

The laid back indie pop/folk of Guilty Johnny is created by Felicia Bloemendaal and Johannes Kapteijn. They’ve known each other since childhood since their mothers are both classical musicians who have been longtime collaborators. Johannes and Felicia reconnected in the 2010s and started playing gigs around town and writing and recording demos together. Recording for their first EP properly commenced in an Amsterdam attic in 2016 and the resulting single ‘Different Light’ was featured on several Spotify editorial playlists like ’Undercurrents' and 'Fresh Finds: Six Strings'. A new single, named ‘24’, was just released. This one’s a scenic and sultry song about running into a former lover, sonically exploring the more lo-fi ends of indie pop/folk. The song is the first installment in a series that they’re tentatively calling Songs from a Houseboat.
