British/Colombian singer-songwriter Vanessa Forero began composing since childhood. For over a decade she has worked as a film/TV composer/producer as well as keys player for touring bands and artists. But since Brit-award artist Beth Orton selected her for her writers residency in 2016, Forero decided to become her own artist and write for her herself. Since then, she’s performed her own material around the world, from the back of Colombian bars to Abbey Road's Studio-One, with several plays on BBC radio, Sofar Sounds, Sky+ and RCN, a UK tour and over a million plays on Spotify. She's also a best-selling co-author of the Sunday Times best-seller: 'The Girl With No Name', telling of her mothers life as a feral child in the Colombian jungle, which turned National Geographic documentary: “Woman Raised By Monkeys”, for which Forero scored the music (under composer name 'Vanessa James') Forero writes, records, produces all the records and performs all the instruments herself, injecting as many traditional Colombian instruments as she can to create a unique, tribal, rootsy and exotic folk sound. She currently lives up a sacred mountain in Colombia, there she's also been working with renowned producers Richard Blair & Christian Castagno...new creations now in the making! and a US/Canada tour plan too. Her self-produced EP's ‘From The Uproar’ and 'FUEGO', as well as several singles are out now. The eagerly awaited ASHES EP is due later this year.
