Biography
Lara Aufranc is a multi-artist: singer/songwriter, actress and painter. Her music flows between indie and psychedelic rock, surprising the listener with virtuosic vocals and unusual chord progressions. Lou Reed, Rita Lee, Fiona Apple, The Beatles and the Tropicália movement are some of her influences. Both her latest records, “Viver Sem Dó” (2020) and “Eu Você Um Nó” (2019), were produced by Romulo Fróes – who also worked with remarkable names of Brazilian music such as Elza Soares and Jards Macalé. With an engaging stage performance, Lara has presented her music at night clubs and music festivals in several cities in Brazil, such as Belo Horizonte, Campinas, Brasília and her hometown, São Paulo. She was also in the television show “Na Voz Delas”, from Canal BIS, famous for featuring prominent female singers. Her previous album Passagem (2017) was said to be “unclassifiable” by the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo due to its richness of musical genres. Aufranc first caught the audience’s attention with her R&B/Soul band Lara & os Ultraleves in 2013. Her debut album “Em Boa Hora” (2015) – was considered to be one of the best Brazilian albums of that year.
