Biography
Marty Rhone’s career as a singer & actor has no boundaries and one that few can match. A support to the Rolling Stones at just 17 and appearances with John Denver, Christopher Cross & the Bee Gees. No1 hit records, the London West End stage with Yul Brynner, a Broadway musical revival with Lou Diamond Phillips (Longmire, La Bamba), film & TV roles. When Marty isn’t writing or performing you might see him on AMC, Hulu and CBS in shows Preacher, Harrow and Bull respectively. It might explain why this Melbourne, Australia guy makes LA his home away from home. About The Latest Release: Originally released in 1967 with the Gibb brothers Maurice and Robin on backing vocals, Marty Rhone’s first composition to make it onto vinyl, is reflective of an era in pop music that was inventive and highly original. Now on the 55th anniversary of the song’s original release comes this digitally remastered version. It highlights just how inventive Rhone and his fellow musicians were at the time. Thumb tacks in the piano hammers to create a harpsichord sound, a packing case for drums and finger chimes, plus a monologue in the break for good measure. Marty could not have imagined when he wrote the lyrics all those years ago just how relevant they would be to today’s events.
