Biography

Between 1976 and 1986 John Schumann was the lead singer and one of the two major songwriters for the Australian folk-rock band Redgum. Since then he has carved out a successful solo career and is now accompanied by his band, the Vagabond Crew. The band is an international class band with international class players. Julian Ferraretto, violin and mandolin and Enrico Morena, drums and percussion, both hold doctorates from the Adelaide University Elder Conservatorium of Music. Rohan Powell on guitar and vocals and Polly Politis on piano and vocals are Adelaide legends in their own right – widely acknowledged to be the best vocal section in the state. Anthony Thyer on electric guitar, harmonica, slide and vocals and Jamie Harrison on bass complete the line-up.
