Biography
AMAARA is the multi-media moniker of Canadian musician, actor and filmmaker Kaelen Ohm. The project began in 2014 as a solo effort and outlet for Ohm's ethereal dream pop sensibilities and cinematic visions. With a sound that blends haunting vocals, reverb drenched guitars, soaring synths and expansive percussion, AMAARA released her debut EP 'Black Moon' in 2017 followed by the 'Heartspeak' EP in 2020, both to positive reviews and accolades from NPR, Tower Records, Exclaim!, Montreal Rocks and more. AMAARA's first full length album 'Child of Venus' is out July 7th, 2023 on Ohm's independent label Lady Moon Records.
