F.Y.I., is an American hip-hop artist from Mid-City Los Angeles, California.His musical journey began with Those Chosen, a rap trio, that he is credited with co-founding. F.Y.I. helped to bring Those Chosen to prominence which landed him as URB Magazine's Top 25 Artists to Watch and getting a distribution deal with Wes Jackson's, President/Founder of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, indie digital imprint Savannah Boogie. Upon signing to the imprint, F.Y.I. helped write Soundclash, a hit, that ended up being a part of Those Chosen's critically acclaimed EP, 5IVE.In 2012, F.Y.I.’s started his solo career by releasing several singles that lead to his first solo project, Yo! The Places You’ll Go (2014), the album features Grammy Winning producer, Iz Avila (of the Avila Brothers), a verse from TDE’s Ab-Soul and it charted #1 on CMJ Hip-Hop Charts. His next release, Age/Sex/Location (2015) featured single/video, One Thang, that aired on BREALtv. F.Y.I. remained active performing on festivals like A3C Hip Hop Festival, SXSW, and Northside Festival. His next project, F.Y.I. Invented Green (2016), was first on bandcamp for free for fans then re-released in 2019 for streaming.Then he released his most politically charged album to date, ameriBLACKKK (2017), featured on Okayplayer.That was followed by Herecember 20NOW (2018) featuring Grammy winner producer, !LLMind. Then he released Bounze Houze (2020).His latest project is eLAyayvate (2022).
