Formed in 1998 as part of the alternative theatre troupe “Pozorište šešira" (Theatre of Hats), Lira Vega has established itself as one of Belgrade's most avant-garde bands! Not just set on their home town, the band has played throughout the region of former Yugoslavia as well as further afield with gigs in Austria, Germany and Poland. Live gigs aside, the band has amassed numerous awards such as: Beovizija (best rock group), Davorin (best regional cooperation, with the group "Let 3", B92 (single of the year), MTS (best video), Popbox (best live performance), with three length albums; "Lira Vega" in 2004, "Sreća i ljubav" in 2009 and "Duhovi" in 2015. More recently, Lira Vega produced the documentary film "Duhovi iz prošlosti", which premiered on January 16, 2019 in Belgrade. The film presents an audio-visual recording of the concert that took place on January 16th, 2016. in legendary venue KC Grad, where the group Lira Vega promoted their LP "Duhovi", with some of the best musician of the region, playing their music live that evening.
