Unsurprisingly, the rawness that can be heard across Culps’ music “comes from within” and he often heads into the booth letting his mind flow and his raps formulate on gritty production from the likes of WhyJay, Lengendarykeyzz and Litek, in which he often displays his ability to switch between flows effortlessly. For Culps, it’s “deeper than just throwing any words on a track” it has to mean something and this purpose in Culps’ approach to music fundamentally drives his ambitions to take his music worldwide. Inspired by the work rate and consistency of fellow UK artists, Culps holds himself to a high standard and after taking some time out to hone his craft and consistently supported by DJ Semtex. When listening back to his own tracks, he mentions the emotive nature and honesty he is able to convey, which also works as a constant reminder to himself as to how far he’s come but also how far he intends to go. His music thematically will be a “wave” but will also include elements of “pain, bubble and vibes” a combination only possible for an artist with Culps’ unique dynamism.
