Singapore-based artist, aeriqah, describes herself as a singer/storytelling-songwriter in a post-genre world. Though if anyone asks, indie-folk with some influence of pop and musical theatre. As a storyteller at heart, aeriqah’s songwriting is guided by her most sacred experiences. Her writing explores the complexities of mental health, heartbreak and letting go. She documents lessons in learning to be kinder to herself and extends that to her listeners. The brutally honest lyrics and sentimental nature of aeriqah’s songs takes influence from the music of dodie, Lizzy McAlpine and JP Saxe.
