Biography
The female singer who was named "living legend" is a sheer cross-discipline artist, renowned as a musician, composer, vocal trainer, music producer, dancer, painter, writer and theatrical actress. In addition to the music that made her an Indonesian household name, Trie is also actively developing projects on local ethnic music and traditions, thus constantly strengthening the culture exposure of the Indonesian archipelago. Through the years, Trie won many awards nationally and internationally. "Grand Prix Winner" at the Golden Stag Singing Contest in Romania in 1992, coming on top over participants from 38 other countries, was one noteworthy among them, along with AMI Award as "Best Jazz Vocal" (2017) and "Best Songwriter for Children "(2004), "Winner" at the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union Contest in Bangkok, Thailand (2000), "Indonesia’s Legendary Musician and Singer" from Hard Rock FM (1997), BASF Award for "Best Selling Album" (in 1987 and 1990). Thanks to her exceptional vocal range, Trie Utami earned a spot in "The 50 Greatest Indonesian Singers" list from Rolling Stone magazine. Her international experience covers many countries, having performed all across Asia and Europe. Currently, Trie is the group's vocalist for Krakatau Reunion, Kumari and 7 Bintang. Her collaborations with International artists are simply too numerous to be listed here.
