Biography
Chicago-born rapper Adriel Cruz (f.k.a. Skrip) began creating music as a child, and spent the 2000s developing his skills as both a rapper and producer, with rhyming and production styles heavily inspired by early 90’s Christian hip hop. Through positive lyrics and hard hitting production, Cruz has risen above his counterparts as a successful independent artist. Additionally, he has contributed featured performances/production on albums by Billboard charting artists Andy Mineo, Social Club Misfits, Thi'sl, all coming off the heels of releasing his free mixtape The Und_rscore and solo debut album Becoming All Things in 2011. Then known as Skrip, Cruz was the first artist signed to Rapzilla.com’s label venture in 2012, then nationally released his next free mixtape The Und_rscore II in 2013. His next efforts, the full-length Renegades Never Die (2015), payed dividends by giving Cruz his first official Billboard charting album followed up by Show and Tell EP (2015), Exposition (2017), Field Trip (2018), and multiple singles which all continued with chart successes released by Cruz's own independent label World Renegade Music.
