Biography
It's not world music, it's end-of-the-world music. We started as a folk band aping the traditional music we loved, but pretty soon we were confessing that we're partial to hardcore punk, and a style was born. Along the way we discovered post rock and started to combine the common threads of all the music we've ever loved. Though we call it 'chainsaw folk', we're environmentalists to the point that our ARIA-nominated 3rd album Another Subtle Atom Bomb is all about climate change. 2021 sees a completely reimagined mix in honour of our debut Overgrown Tales' 10th birthday - we took the original tracking tape transfers as recorded by Steve Albini, and got long time collaborator Clayton Segelov to apply the production style of our more recent work. The result is a compact version of the epic What the Thunder Said. "They're original and quixotic, I can't say I've heard anything else like it" - Brian Eno.
