Biography
Raised in London, UK by Jamaican born parents. Dancehall rapper Face J obtained his unique sound growing up immersed between two of the most fertile cultures in the 90’s/2000 era. After a few spins, the influences become subtly evident - with elements of Buju Banton & Vybz Kartel’s ferocity balanced against the grimey and drill street assured London-inspired delivery, Face J has already carved out an authentic lane backed by an even more authentic voice. He is an eclectic artist specialising in a range of genres including Dancehall, Reggae, Hip - Hop, R&B, & Grime. From as early as six years old, Face J’s passion for music evolved as he began to play musical instruments such as the piano and drums. His parents had an extensive collection of classic vinyl LP’s, “There was always music playing in my home, which really broadened my perception of sound.” stated the deejay. Face J began rapping at the age of 10. Shortly after he also began producing music from age 11 in his high school. This led to his urge to develop as an artist and one day create a legacy in music. Face J went on to be featured on a number of well-established pirate radio stations. He has performed around Europe doing shows in the UK, and Jamaica. After a lengthy hiatus, he is pushing forward with a fresh crossover sound to elevate UK Dancehall to the global forefront with its sister genres. Face J is definitely set for many great things in the future. Check out - Broad Out 🤸🏽♀️
