Biography
Drawing on influences that range from Delta blues and ragtime to hard-hitting indie and classic rock, bluesy British post-grunge/Americana outfit Kill It Kid has drawn comparisons to bands like the White Stripes, My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, and the Black Keys. Formed in 2008 around the talents of guitarist and vocalist Chris Turpin, keyboard player and vocalist Stephanie Ward, drummer Marc Jones, and bass player Dom Kozubik, the Bath-based quartet who, along with the usual rock & roll setup of guitar, keys, bass, and drums, have been known to employ banjo, fiddle, and slide guitar, recorded their debut EP in 2008 with PJ Harvey and Eels producer John Parish. The songs eventually caught the ear of One Little Indian Records, who signed the group the following year and put out their eponymous full-length debut. After releasing their sophomore album, Feet Fall Heavy, in 2011, the band inked a deal with Sire/Warner and began work on their third long-player. The resulting You Owe Nothing dropped in September 2014. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
