36? is an award-winning internationally touring art-rock band originally out of Calgary, AB. Their new record Naturally (coming out on Montana record label, North Pole Records) was recorded at the beginning of the pandemic. For Taylor Cochrane, (songwriter and frontman for 36?) the recordings came as a much needed release of all the pent up energy that the band had accumulated after 8 months on the road. The overarching theme to Naturally encapsulates Cochranes frustration with the expectation of an artist to present themselves as the perfect package, and how that expectation seeps into and clouds their self-expression. 36? was living in a van on the road somewhere in North America until the pandemic struck in 2020. Since that time they have been bunkering down, writing music, making guitar pedals and waiting for that sweet moment when they can live out on the road once again.
