Biography
Luke LeBlanc is a young Minneapolis-based alt-rock singer/songwriter who delivers songs filled with heart, soul, and a healthy dose of experimentalism based in the tradition of American Roots music. According to music critic Dwight Hobbes, “abundant as the Twin Cities music scene is in eyebrow-raising talent, Luke LeBlanc’s ear-friendly, indeed entrancing music marks him as a stand-out talent.” Born and raised on Minneapolis's northside, LeBlanc grew up listening to a wide variety of music, young and old, from Bob Dylan and The Band, to John Prine, to The Wallflowers and The Avett Brothers. "Variety" has been a theme in Luke's life thus far; though a musician, LeBlanc earned a Bachelors in Economics and graduated in 2018. His music has been featured on 89.3 The Current and has received critical acclaim from numerous music magazines and blogs. Now 25, LeBlanc taught himself how to play guitar at 11 years old and decided to write his own words and music soon after. At 13, he was the youngest to win the Zimmy’s, a national Bob Dylan influenced singer/songwriter competition in Hibbing, Minnesota. LeBlanc played South by Southwest in Texas in 2017 and found himself opening for Charlie Parr, Phil Solem of The Rembrandts, Joey Molland of Badfinger, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.
