Biography
Gasmilla born, Milla Joseph Odartei Lamptey is an afropop singer and songwriter. Gasmilla is a versatile musician who regularly mixes afrobeats, dancehall, R&B and Hip-Hop in an effortless manner. He consistently wows his audience with original and energetic performances that have increased his fan base. He has performed in Europe, America and Africa and shared stage with acts such as Giggs, Mr Eazi, T-Pain, Sarkodie, King Promise, R2Bees, Rupee and more. Gasmilla has also graced the stage at the Notting Hill Carnival in 2012, as the first African act ever. Hailed as the “King of Azonto”, Gasmilla broke into the African music scene with the track “Aboodatoi”. His body of work was followed by the high-energy smash hit “Telemo”, that won the video of the year award at 4syte video awards in 2015, song of the year at Kids Choice awards and song of the year at 3G Awards, USA in 2015. The track was also rewarded with countless nominations. Since then Gasmilla has collaborated with amongst others Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, Medikal and Efya. His first EP is titled “Fishermans Wave” was released March 2019 and that project includes vocal contributions from Bisa Kdei and Kwamz & Flava.
