Biography
Tejumola Osibanjo, known professionally as Jay Moore, is a Nigerian-born singer and songwriter based between London and Lagos. A rising star in the modern-day Afro-Pop, Jay Moore began recording at age 15 with the stage name "Teejhay" He groomed his music skills under the late popular producer H-code, Harold Mordi. In 2017, after rebranding from Teejhay to Jay Moore, he released his debut single as a Singer titled "You Know" feat the Then StarBoy musician L.A.X. In 2019, Jay Moore released his first ever E.P Independently, Everything & Moore, Vol.1. The project was supported by 8 singles, including the songs "Different Vibe" and "Ballerina" In 2021, Jay Moore collaborated with Runtown on the single "Rewind", which amassed millions of streams organically. The following year, he released both "Steel and Copper" and "No regrets" while still being independent. Jay Moore grew up in one of the roughest parts of Lagos with well-to-do parents before losing it all, giving him the best of both worlds when he was younger. He also had some years of growing up around his Caribbean friends while hustling in the U.K. for a few years before being sent back to Nigeria by his parents for being a headstrong kid. This experience is where most of his dancehall influence and the modern feel of his Afro-pop come from.
