Biography
Historically, Alabama has been known for strength and perseverance and the birthplace of artists like Gucci Mane, Doe B, Mick Jenkins and countless others. Hoping to follow in those same footsteps, Alabama native Jabo hopes to use his own strength and perseverance to rise up out of the South, which is proven through the smooth rhymes and grounded persona that he exudes. Since a young adolescent, Jabo began his relationship with music, growing up the son of a gospel musician, music has always played an integral role in Jabo’s life. With previous singles such as “What I’m About” featuring Slim Thug and Jadakiss and “Drop” featuring Yo Gotti, Jabo’s music has graced the airwaves early on in his career and has even been seen by millions of television viewers on programs such as BET’s 106 & Park and MTV Jams. Heavily influenced by East Coast Legends such as Nas, JAY Z, and the late great Notorious B.I.G., just to name a few, Jabo managed to balance the Southern hip-hop style perfectly through his previous catalog. Jabo is inspired by the spirit and memory of his late mother, who passed from lupus when he was just 13 years old, serving as a beacon for his drive. Even facing death himself, Jabo survived a violent robbery being shot twice. Since that event occurred, Jabo has served as an advocate for community outreaching, and serves as a mentor to kids throughout the community and receiving inspiration from them in return is his ultimate gratification.<br>
