Biography
Born in San Francisco, California, Jocelyn Enriquez has been widely regarded as a music pioneer, becoming the first Filipino American artist to find success in the mainstream industry. Emerging from the Freestyle movement of the time, Enriquez was the first artist to sign with Classified Records and was quickly deemed by some as the “Queen of Freestyle”. Her 1994 debut album “Lovely" features dance hits “I’ve Been Thinking About You” and “Make It Last Forever”. Enriquez’s 1996 smash hit single “Do You Miss Me?” peaked at #17 on the Rhythmic Top 40, #14 on the Top 40 chart, #8 on the Hot Dance Singles chart, and #49 on the Billboard Hot 100. With “Do You Miss Me?”, the album features radio hit “A Little Bit Of Ecstasy” reaching #1 on the Billboard’s Dance chart for 6 weeks solidifying her position in Dance. The single was released by Tommy Boy Records on her second album “Jocelyn”. In 1998, she collaborated with Amber & Ultra Natè, remaking “If You Could Read My Mind” for major motion picture “54”. In 2003 her 3rd album “All My Life” was released by JEM Entertainment. Along with success in the USA, Enriquez found international touring success in Canada, Brazil, Singapore, Guam, and the Philippines. Known for her live performances, Jocelyn has shared the stage with such artists as N ‘Sync, Salt-N-Pepa, LL Cool J, Brandy, Jon Secada, Backstreet Boys, Color Me Badd, Wyclef. Jocelyn is currently in the studio creating new music.
