Biography

Camouflage was formed in 1981 in the swedish town Vänersborg. Two years later the band moved to Göteborg and also got two new members. They wrote songs, made demos and slowly got known as a new interesting band in the postpunk genre thanks to a growing live reputation. Camouflage debut album was recorded at Silence Studios in Koppom, Värmland, where producer Henrik Cederberg became something of a sixth member in the making of the bands three albums, Camouflage (1985), En förtjusande vän (1986) and LaLaLa (1988). Camouflage toured all over Sweden and also made some concerts in Norway and Denmark. One of the highlights was clearly the gig at Roskilde Festival in 1987. In 1989 the band was forced to change name to Tapirerna as a new band from Germany, also named Camouflage, got established on the international scene. Tapirerna released the album "Trick&Tro" in 1990 and disbanded in the autumn of 1992. Members in Camouflage/Tapirerna were: Ola Jörhall (vocals & guitar), Ingvar Larsson (keyboards), Elisabeth Johnsson Karlsson (bass&violin), Ingemar Karlsson (guitar&backing vocals), Inge Mårtensson (drums 1981-85), Peter Björklund (drums, percussion&backing vocals 1986-1992). In 1993 Elisabeth, Ingvar and Ingemar formed a new band called Dogsmile. They still write and release new music and their vinyl album "We walk the Streets with You" came in spring 2017. In 2011 Ola Jörhall released his fine solo debut "Ensamheten". Sadly he died early in 2012 after a short time of illness.
