Biography

Beach Clinic is an Indie Rock band that was established in 2017 in Pico Rivera, California by Carlos Mares and friends in high school. The band released their debut single, "Do I Know You?," in December 2017 via Mute Man Records through a compilation EP of various Pico Rivera bands. 
 In 2018, the band followed up with their second single, "Never Meant," and eventually their debut EP, "For You, If You're Listening," in 2019. 
 From 2018 all the way up until 2020, Beach Clinic played tons of shows and gained a following in their local music scene. The trio eventually turned into a quintet, but the pandemic hindered their growth. The lack of opportunities and resources led to the disbandment of the group. 
 In 2021, Carlos Mares decided to continue releasing music via Beach Clinic and released their sophomore EP, "Love Ceremony," which had heavy influences from bands like The Cure, New Order, Joy Division, and Vampire Weekend. 
 Eventually, the band released, "Cereal at Midnight," and “Is It Me? (It’s You),” off of their debut album, "Televisions,". Both tracks established a new sound for the band, featuring a more intense, energetic, emotional, but nostalgic sound with new influences that range from shoegaze to post-punk, Midwest emo, and dream pop.
