Biography
After 8 years at the Toulon (south of France) Conservatory, Christophe La Pinta finds in the study of percussion the means to quench his curiosity. In parallel with his classical training, he multiplies rock and pop training and styles on drums, then continues his studies with musicology studies and a specialization in ethnic music. The big leap came in 1995, when he won a competition and went to Los Angeles to join Mike Post, a composer of cult series (Magnum PI, The A-Team, NYPD Blue...). The sustained rhythm of writing inherent in the format, the urgency sometimes, it opens up in the most beautiful way to working with the image. This founding experience led her to work quickly for television. As the projects progressed, he developed a taste for sound mixtures and asserted a contemporary and atypical imprint. Rhythm plays a major role in his life, music often imprints the pulsation of the story. Marrying the instrument to the electronic layers, Christophe strongly supports the nervous and oppressive atmospheres, stopping step by step the mechanics of the story or a character, as in the series "Les Hommes de l'ombre" or in the film "SK1" by Frédéric Tellier. If the composer also distinguished himself in lighter projects such as the oriental melodies of "Ali Baba & the 40 thieves" or the more aerial sounds of "La Chance de ma vie". Christophe La Pinta deeply loves the unpredictability of his job, the essence of this magnificent versatility.
