Biography
The Steadies aren’t invited to the party—they ARE the party. Mixing the explosively popular dance-rock genre with funk and reggae influences, The Steadies have created a signature sound they’ve dubbed, ‘island rock.’ The Steadies’ frontman Earl Pereira got his rock n’ roll pedigree as a founding member of established Canadian rock band Wide Mouth Mason, who had three gold records, three JUNO nominations and has opened for iconic artists like the Rolling Stones and The Tragically Hip. Ever the road warriors, The Steadies play upwards of 100 shows worldwide each year, winning over every crowd with their highly energetic and engaging performances. Recent highlights include performances at the 2022 Grey Cup and 2023 Juno Awards Festival. THE STEADIES HIGHLIGHTS > Played over 900 shows in Canada, Asia and Europe, including opening spots for The Roots, The Wailers, and Ziggy Marley. > Performed at numerous festivals such as the Olympics, the Grey Cup, Victoria Ska Fest, Montreal Ska Fest, Sask Jazzfest and dozens of festivals across Canada. > Showcased at the JUNO Awards, Western Canadian Music Awards and Canadian Music Week. > Media features on TMZ, TSN, SHAW, CBC, GLOBAL, CTV, National Post, Chart Attack Magazine, the Globe & Mail, Canadian Musician, and radio stations across Canada. > Nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award and a Saskatchewan Music Award for Band of the Year, voted Best Concert of the Year in Planet S Magazine in 2022.
