Biography

KAREN MUKUPA is a Zambian/Danish hip hop artist. A pioneer on the danish rap scene, whom together with the late dancehall artist Natasja, in the early 90´s formed her first band No Name Requested. The duo innovated the sound of danish rap with their music being a fusion of hip hop and dancehall. 
 As a solo artist Mukupa has released four albums and toured most corners of Denmark, but also in countries such as Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Italy, Kenya and Tanzania. Her style has always been rooted in hip hop culture, but has experimented with musical styles such as pop, raggae and afro. 
 Karen Mukupa's upcoming album 'BONOBO' will be released in spring 2023.
