Biography
Formed in the mid-'80s, Spanish Distrito 14 recorded an album in Frankfurt, Germany, which was never released. After playing under the names of Pécora Jarris and Ira, the band reunited in 1988, opening for Dr. Feelgood. A demo produced by Ollie Halsall allowed the group to get a record deal, recording an EP called Dias De Gloria, released by EMI in 1993, followed by El Cielo Lo Sabe. Soon, Distrito 14 teamed up with John Evans, founding an independent label called El Milagro, issuing La Calle Del Sol. In October of 1996, a live performance at Zaragoza's Auditorium was recorded and released in 1997. Two years later, Distrito 14 got involved in an ambitious project: recording live with the Cuban Symphonic Orquestra, making an album called A Mitad Del Camino, released by Prames in 1999. 2000's Live in Chicago followed. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
