Biography
Fatumatá Djaquité is a singer, songwriter and social activist. Daughter of Guineans, she was born on March 18th, 1990 in Bissau. With only 5 years old, Fattú Djakité emigrated to Cape Verde with her mother, sister and Cape Verdean grandmother. Her interest in music started at a very early age, when she was 13, she went to a local radio to present her first demo where she met Princezito. At 18, she was invited by Dabs Lopes to participate in the summer 2008 project. In the same year, Dabs Lopes took her as a chorus singer in different festivals where her carrier as a back vocalist singer started until today for several artists, including Djodje , Gil Semedo, Emicida, Nelson Freitas, Boy Gé Mendès, Suzanna Lubrano, Lura, Jorge Neto, Tabanka Djaz and among others. In 2017, she traveled to Rio de Janeiro to record her first album produced by Maurício Pacheco who currently works as producer and music director for artist Vanessa Da Mata. 2017 she was selected twice to participate in the Lusafro project in Germany representing Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde with CEUZANY, Buruntuma and Sasha Perera. 2018 she participated in the Tribute to Nelson Mandela in Porto with Gabriel O Pensador, Stanley Clarke and Jimmy P. 2019 she founded the latest Cape Verdean band AZAGUA with Dieg, and among others. 2022 she represented Cape Verde Music at the Dubai Expo along with Djodje, Elida Almeida, Nelson Freitas, Cremilda Medina, Neuza, Dynamo and Jenifer Solidade.
