Biography
Collectively, songwriter-producer, Lem Springsteen, and composer-producer, John Ciafone work together as the production duo, Mood II Swing. They met in the early 90s as members of a recording group. John, inspired by classical music and hiphop began as a DJ and started producing music with an underground hip hop group on Long Island, New York, in the mid 80s. Lem was writing RandB songs, at a tender age and began gigging a single signed to Chrysalis UK around the NY club circuit. Both, musically trained, Lem and John decided to forge their worlds and begin producing music together as Mood II Swing. Thanks to the influence of working with New York house music veteran producers and DJs, Masters at Work, Mood II Swing started remixing songs for major and independent records labels. Their sound, which was unique, blended different styles within dance music. In 1998 the duo struck gold by cowriting and producing Ultra Naté's "Free" for Strictly Rhythm, Warner Brothers, which became a huge international hit. Currently, in the post millennium, with a resurgence of early 90’s house music, John Ciafone and Lem Springsteen have rejoined as a production team to showcase their contribution to the global dance community in live DJ sets. Mood II Swing is currently working with UK based agency, ConstellateTalent.
