Biography
AMFM is the indie rock art project of David Caruso. Conceived in New Jersey and produced in Brooklyn, AMFM brings together the gritty indie-rock production and quirky lyricism of indie bands like Kurt Vile and Deerhunter with a melodic sensibility and lush arrangement style in the mold of artists like Adam Granduciel (War on Drugs) and Jim James (My Morning Jacket). AMFM’s first self-titled EP had tracks featured on Banana Republic and Abercrombie & Fitch's in store playlists as well as Spotify's "Fresh Finds 6 Strings" playlist. The band’s follow up EP “Brevity” landed AMFM on the cover of The Aquarian’s print edition “Unsigned Band Issue.” Punch Land described David as a “True Artist.” Indie Band Guru says “There is no denying AMFM is virtuosic.” Pure Grain Audio says “Brevity is a collection of four new spacious indie rock tracks that showcases the talents and carefully crafted approach of David Caruso.” AMFM has performed at radio stations including New Jersey’s WNTI and WDHA as well as Brooklyn’s summer music festival “Degraw Fest” and was invited to play a set at Rolling Stone Magazine in New York.
