Biography
Known for his fluid melodies and witty bars, Landstrip Chip, born Jordan Holt-May, is a rapper/songwriter whose talent, work ethic, and resilience have him on a path for success. Born in East Atlanta, Chip was exposed to an array of artists such as George Clinton, Snoop Dogg, and Sade by his parents, providing the foundation for his unique musical background. Chip began rapping in 2008, occasionally laying verses over beats that his friends had obtained for their own records. Eventually recording and releasing his debut mixtape, No Feelings. The project was well-received by the Hip-Hop community in Atlanta, and Chip subsequently reconnected with high school friend and super-producer Sonny Digital, whom he began working with on a number of projects for artists such as Migos, Key!, and Metro Boomin. In the years to follow, Chip developed his artistry further, reevaluating the style of music he wanted to create, mastering his sound, and stockpiling records. His dedication to growth was the inspiration behind the creation and release of two critically-acclaimed projects, One of One and Cruise Control. The mixtapes garnered considerable attention from major publications such as The Fader and HotNewHipHop, which led to Chip connecting with artist Trill Sammy to produce the record ‘Road Runnin’. The duo performed the song during major music festivals SXSW and Rolling Loud, before embarking on a tour with Maxo Kream.<br>
