Biography
CODIA is a Copenhagen-based electronic music artist on a mission to create the unexpected. Having found much inspiration in artists such as Tourist, Flume, James Blake, Stromae and many more, he has set out to create his own unique sound. Growing up, CODIA's weapon was a distorted guitar, but after a longer break away from music, he taught himself the basics of music production in the summer of 2018, subsequently releasing his debut single ‘Climb' in September the same year. 2019 offered two singles, one of which was a cover of Lil Peep's Star Shopping made with CODIA's cousin, Starcke, on the vocals. After releasing 'Maybe' in early 2021, he felt immensely inspired by Tourist as well as Diplo's 2020 album 'MMXX'. These inspirations led to the creation of CODIA's debut EP 'Vacuum'. The EP was followed by the release of 'Bliss' as well as the 2-track single 'Ambivalence', both of which falls into a similar experimental style. Popular 2022 tracks, such as 'Ego' and 'Medicine' was later featured on CODIA's second EP MMXXIII (inspired by before-mentioned Diplo album) along with 2023 releases 'Looking For You' and the EP exclusive 'Something Like This'. The EP received support on the Danish radio channel, DR P3, which later hosted CODIA for an interview, as well as in the Australian online magazine, Acid Stag. 2023 has also seen the release of 'Say What You Said' with the American artist Nightgames, while another collaboration with WLDFLOW3R will release on August 11th.
