Biography
Having released their debut album in 2015, Morokh showed us that by mixing rock-and-roll with black metal and provoking punk you can get extremely fresh and modern sound. In autumn 2016 the band presented a cover on Egor Letov's song "Vechnaya Vesna" ("Everlasting Spring"), revealing the origins of their music and convincing the audience that the Russian language can sound quite harmonically. However it was just the beginning and, following their success, the band decided to continue adopting Nordic metal sound. Having derived inspiration from characteristic lyrics of the great and mighty Siberian punk, Morokh combined them with the traditional Scandinavian black metal grooves, adding hardcore energy and catchy melodies to their style. As the result we have "Klyatva" ("Oath"), an album with the Russian lyrics. Listeners get a chance to discover a deeply dark, rough and snowy musical world, saturated with profound and diverse lyrics, and phonetics of the Russian language. The musicians’ technical level emphasizes the band's sound which became more heavy and aggressive. The mood of the songs has changed, too: if the first album dragged us into a unholy masquerade, then now Morokh, making an oath, sit proudly on the throne made of the darkest human feelings in the kingdom of permafrost. The marvelous symphonies of the endless night make us see the band in a new light, and this light is as black as every human soul.
