Biography
For Melody Federer, a new era has just begun. The Texas-born artist, songwriter and producer has honed her craft all over the world and is ready to release her best work yet. Now splitting her time between Seattle and Los Angeles, she has continued to gain recognition in the worlds of Alt, Indie and Pop over the last year. In 2020, she made waves with “This Town,” a smoldering Alt-Rock track that made radio stand at attention, and “The Wonder Years,” an indie ballad that received rave reviews from the likes of Sir Elton John. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, her first single of 2021 entitled “I Hate Love” arrives on February 9th. The instantly catchy anti-love ALT-Pop story was an outpouring of emotion for Federer after a tumultuous breakup she went through this year. With its cagey vibe and angsty message, an early version caught the ear of one of her current musical heroes, artist and producer Absofacto. Believing in the song's potential, he came on board to Produce, alongside Nathan Barlowe, Kosuke Kasza, and CASTLE. This latest installment in Federer’s journey takes her down a new path, growing and expanding her sonic palette.
