Biography

Alexander Wolfe first gave the world a taste of his unique strain of alt-folk in 2010 when his debut album “Morning Brings a Flood” was released. Critics were universal in their praise, Q magazine & Uncut both gave the album 4 stars and the New York Post declared it “ The most beautiful album we’ve heard in years. Period". Wolfe raised his profile in 2012 with his second album “Skeletons”, which was a more somber affair written and recorded in a 2 week period in the midst of a break up. The result is as bleak as it is beautiful. Then followed 2016’s double album of elegantly layered folk rock ‘From The Shallows’, and most recently, his most ambitious album to date, 2020’s Little death, which again garnered critical acclaim across the board, and had him sharing stages with the likes of Feist, Paul Weller, Vampire Weeked and Jamie Cullum. His forthcoming narrative, concept album ‘Everythinglessness’, is a semi-autobiographical story about a boy growing up in Lewisham struggling with mental health issues and masculinity. It is slated for release in 2023 and promises to be his most challenging and most personal work yet.
