Biography

Shelley Harland is a singer-songwriter from the UK via New York via Sydney Australia. With a passion to sing and write music of all flavours her music can be heard across the world on various albums, tv shows and films. She honed her songwriting skills mostly on the subway between Brooklyn & Manhattan on her way to her job at a Private Detectives office midtown. Chopping up sounds on her MPC Sampler and throwing it all down on her 8 track, in a very short time she had some demo’s and was signed to Nettwerk, BMG & Sony. This led to her writing songs with John Cale (Velvet Underground) and touring with Elvis Costello as well as appearing on many well known electronic artist albums…Delerium, Morgan Page Ferry Corsten, Jazzmatazz and more… In between her collaborations Shelley wrote her album ‘Red Leaf’ which was mixed by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Radiohead) and mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The album received great reviews from Rolling Stone ‘one to watch’ and iTunes ‘single of the week’. When Omega Watches approached Shelley about using her song ‘In The Dark’ in a worldwide commercial with Nicole Kidman it pivoted Shelley into the world of music for film & tv. For someone who likes to spend her days in a dark studio drinking tea and making up songs… this was a match made in heaven. Shelley works daily with people around the globe writing and singing songs in all genres. Her vocals been labeled as oozing with integrity, emotion and connection.
